Penguin Group

Four year old kindergarten introduces the children to 15 hours a week of an educational program. Preparing them with the confidence, skills and abilities to transition onto prep.

We run a rotational model for 4YO sessions; this means we divide our enrolments into 3 small groups and each group will be allocated 2 sessions per week – a total of 15 hours per child. The same children in their assigned group will attend pre-school together on both of their sessions however over the course of the week all children will get to meet both of the other 2 small groups.

Each child is encouraged to become actively involved in their own learning, make independent choices and have input in program decision making.  Their interests, experiences and ideas are reflected in our ever changing program, and play based learning experiences.

Through play children are given time and space to; explore, create, imagine, communicate, problem solve, develop friendships, work co-operatively and ultimately achieve the objectives laid out by the Early Year Learning Framework.

Our program focuses on developing children to:

– become confident learners

– develop effective communication skills

– have knowledge about the world in which they live

– build a strong sense of self identity

– develop a sense of wellbeing

Incursions and excursions are an important part of our program.  With organized visits from/to dance, yoga, theatre, science , museum, safety and environmental groups and guest speakers.   Our varied ‘Out and About’ program also allows us to venture out and learn about our local community.

Our role as teachers is to to guide, to scaffold and to support your child along the way. A role that we take great pride in doing.
